Dear Adult Literacy Teachers and Tutors,

The Collin County Adult Literacy Council (ccalc.org) is pleased to offer your students a chance to participate in a writing contest to celebrate literacy. Winners will receive a prize, and some entries may even be published!

Entries are accepted between January 19 – February 20, 2004, and winners will be announced at the 3rd Annual Plano Book Festival for Adult Literacy on Saturday, March 20, 2004. The festival is a family event; however, participants need not be present to win. There will be authors, children’s activities, books for sale, and concessions. The festival will take place throughout Haggard Park, Plano Station and City Hall.

The Plano Book Festival for Adult Literacy is hosted by the Collin County Adult Literacy Council (ccalc.org), a coalition of Literacy and English as a Second Language programs.

The entry form is attached; please feel free to duplicate it as needed for your student(s). If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me. We look forward to your participation!
